Seen from above, Morozzo looks like a whale, swimming in the green sea of the plain, with the county road that crosses it like a backbone. The origins of this village are lost in the most ancient history, from the Ligurians to the Romans. In the Civic Museum of Cuneo some testimonies are carefully preserved. Morozzo has always played an important role in the history of the Monregalese territory, as a center of power and as a protagonist of struggles and wars in the Middle Ages. Today it looks like a small town on the plain, grouped around a main road. Its enogastronomic and productive tradition is linked to one product in particular: the capon. Traditionally, the animal chosen for this type of livestock is the “nostrana” of Morozzo. The tradition of Morozzo is so old and unique that Slow Food has dedicated the first chapter of its history to it, in order to preserve the peculiarity of this local production, a delicacy.
